Don't worry about getting them back on track immediately, let them take tangents even if it fills the whole gaming session. Always keep some mini-encounters available for when they decide to take a leftturn in the middle of the adventure. The players won't always do what you want them to and forcing them to strictly follow a specific path or plotline isn't in anyone's best interest. Remember, it's your game and you're in charge.ģ: Be flexible. Your job is to challenge them and part of that is making them play through situations that aren't always in their best interests.
